Seriously people, do NOT say that war was a 'romantic' UsUk moment. It wasn't ok? America didn't want anything to do with England, we were killing each other left and right. So for the love of GOD do NOT use that as a UsUk hint. There are many other history moments you can use for that, just do NOT bring up that War.

THANK YOU. Admittedly, I hate USUK with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns, but it gets a knee-jerk reaction out of me when people claim this. I also highly dislike it when people try to portray England as the victim of the American Revolution. I'm probably in the minority here, but I didn't feel sorry for England. At all. I will die on the hill of "he made his bed when he started up that business and had to face lying in it". And if England hadn't been all, "you can't trade with anyone but ME", America might not have left.

tl;dr: England refused to let America have autonomy or individual rights and got possessive and controlling and gross after neglecting him (and used the kid he was raising as a living emotional crutch), and America was completely justified in breaking away from him.

I swear I don't hate England (I do like him), I just don't sympathize with him over the Revolution.
